Overview

Summer Staff - Organized Camp

Position Objective:

The Kidder Maintenance Assistant will oversee irrigation and lawn care of camp, assist Facilities Manager with other projects, and assist in the maintenance of camp to ensure that students have an experience, in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Ensure safety and well-being of all campers and staff using the Kidder Creek facilities, keeping safety in mind at all times.
  • Care, maintenance and irrigation of all lawn areas, keeping records as necessary. Promptly report any hazards or dangerous situations to the Facilities Manager.
  • Assist in other program areas as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Summer staff members and others assigned to facilities tasks.

Qualifications

General Qualifications:

A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith.  Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs.  Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization.  Of strong moral character and integrity.

 

Education/Certifications/Licenses: 

  • High school graduate.
  • 1 year of college experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Work Experience:

  • Prior camp experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
  • Ability to demonstrate a personal, committed and thought-through faith in Christ.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through, creative, flexible and able to adjust to challenges of the program.
  • Able to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.

Key Job Accountabilities

Physical Demands:

  • Requires lifting and transporting 25-50 lbs. of gear and equipment off and on vehicles, up and down elevation changes.
  • The physical environment requires the employee to talk and hear both in person from close and long distances and by phone or radio.
  • Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, use of both eyes, ability to distinguish basic colors and shades; depth perception,
  • Peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Requirements/Skills:

  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in Mount Hermon’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
