Summer Staff - Organized Camp

Position Objective:

The Worship Specialist/Crafts Assistant is responsible to lead, encourage, and nurture a love and appreciation of worship through music among staff and campers to nurture an environment of spiritual growth through guided worship. The Worship Specialist/Crafts Assistant aids with running and overseeing crafts when worship duties are fulfilled in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.


Key Job Accountabilities:

  • As Worship Specialist is responsible to lead, organize and manage Redwood Camp worship program and campfires in cooperation with the Program Lead.
  • As Worship Specialist is responsible to teach a variety of songs and accompanying hand motions/dancing to both staff and campers to promotes enthusiasm for worship.
  • As Worship Specialist will assume responsibility, inventory and care for all sound and video equipment as well as set up and tear down as needed.
  • As Crafts Assistant will assist the Primary Lead in oversight and running of crafts program.
  • As Crafts Assistant is responsible for maintaining all craft equipment.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

General Qualifications:

 A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith. Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs. Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. Of strong moral character and integrity.



  • High School graduate.
  • Some college experience preferred.
  • Must be CPR and First Aid certified.

Work Experience:

  • Prior experience with crafts preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to play guitar, bass, piano, or drums and able to lead students in musical worship in a relevant and interactive manner.
  • Love for youth of all ages is essential; capable of providing strong Christian role model.
  • Must be passionate for worship and leading primary youth in group singing.
  • Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.
  • Ability to teach with patience and clear instruction.
  • Must be able to lead guests.
  • Self-Starter.
  • Creativity with limited supplies.

Physical Demands:


The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, etc.

  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
