Overview

Summer Staff - Organized Camp

Position Objective:

 

The Administrative Lead works with Director of Children’s Ministry as a part of the Core Leadership team to manage the administrative logistics of Redwood Camp to provided campers and parents with quality customer care enabling Redwood Staff to minister without hindrance. As the Trading Post Lead organizes, and manages all transactions in Trading Post office in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:

           

  • As Administrative Lead, is responsible to manage camper registration including but not limited to camper paperwork, working closely with parents, and balancing and coordinating registration tasks for multiple camp programs.
  • As Administrative Lead, is responsible to manage Program staff needs including but not limited to answering telephone calls, mailings, cover copying duties to fulfill needs of program, maintenance and constant updating of files for campers and camp information, as well as updated schedules.
  • As Administrative Lead, will work with Core Leadership Team (Program Lead, Counseling Leads, Junior Lead, and Primary Lead) and Director of Children’s Ministries to train summer staff.
  • As Trading Post Manager, operates trading post overseeing all sales.
  • As Trading Post Manager, operates camp bank and keep detailed records of all transactions.
  • As Trading Post Manager, maintains inventory, organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of office and supplies.
  • Responsible to maintain security for all offices and records used in both Administrative and Trading Post positions.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

General Qualifications:

 

A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith. Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs. Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. Of strong moral character and integrity.

 

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

 

  • High school graduate.
  • Preferred college graduate.
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified.

Work Experience:

 

  • Preferred previous experience working with primary and junior youth.
  • Preferred familiarity with camp programming.
  • Prefer prior experience in leadership roles in camp settings. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Must be a team player with a passion for the camping industry.
  • Preferred previous experience working with college age students in ministry settings.
  • Must possess leadership skills and emotional and spiritual maturity.
  • Must have strong relational skills and high energy to engage with youth and adults.
  • Ability to articulate gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
  • Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.
  • Must be creative, detail oriented, with the ability to follow through with projects.
  • Must be flexible with an ability to adjust and problem solve in challenging situations.
  • Able to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.

Key Job Accountabilities

Physical Demands:

 

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and requires lifting of 25 lbs. 

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
