Overview

Summer Staff - Organized Camp

Position Objective:

 

The Kidder Creek Videographer and Media Specialist works under the direction of the Kidder Creek Associate Director and the Mount Hermon Senior Video Producer to video people and events capturing the ministry of Kidder Creek camps in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:    

  • Responsible to edit and produce weekly camp video for Kidder Creek camps.
  • Responsible to catalog all video and photos footage taken.
  • Accountable to provide evaluation and documentation of program.
  • Responsible to work on promotional photos and videos as directed.
  • Responsible for maintaining and keeping inventory of cameras, video camera and editing equipment and supplies. Report any damage or poorly working equipment to supervisors immediately.
  • Act as a secondary photographer.
  • Resposible to setup and run audio/video as needed for programs.
  • Rides the transportation bus to Santa Cruz when needed.
  • Attend all staff meetings and events.
  • Share in the responsibilities of keeping camp areas (including cabins, living areas, workspaces and supplies) clean and orderly.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the broader program.
  • Actively engage and help build the summer staff community with your attitude, words, and actions.
  • Ensure smooth execution of the program specifically by being on time, prepared, and willing to assist with immediate and/or unforeseen needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisors.

Qualifications

General Qualifications:

 

A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith.  Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs.  Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization.  Of strong moral character and integrity.

 

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • High school graduate.
  • College experience preferred. 

Work Experience:

  • Experience and aptitude in filming and editing.
  • Experience and aptitude in photography and editing.
  • Experience and aptitude with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram). 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work alone as well as in a team.
  • Love for youth of all ages is essential.
  • Ability to engage creativity and artistic abilities within camp setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and ability to follow through with tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must be observant and attentive.
  • Ability to articulate gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
  • Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.

Key Job Accountabilities

Physical Demands:

 

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, hiking long distances on varied terrain, swimming, climbing, shouting, ability to lift/carry anywhere from 15 to over 60 lbs., and engage in general physical play with children. Position also requires ability to hear, speak and see clearly in adverse conditions.

  • Will be assigned a secondary role as required for all Summer Staff.
  • Will be required to drive to various adventure and river locations.  Valid Class C drivers’ license and clean driving record for the past two years required.
