Overview

Summer Staff - Organized Camp

Position Objective:

The Administrator has oversight of all administrative needs at Ponderosa Lodge. The Administrator is responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, nurturing spiritual growth of campers and staff through facilitation of program activities and curriculum in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values. 

 

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of the Office area.
  • Perform and direct all office duties and/or lead staff in those duties.
  • Communication liaison with Registration for performance of all registration duties and cabin assignments, as well as print needs with Creative Services.
  • Organize cabin activities and sign-ups in conjunction with the Counselor Leads.
  • Liaison and care of youth groups and youth pastors.
  • Meet daily with the Ponderosa Lodge Leadership Team and supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Ponderosa Lodge Coordinator. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Qualifications

General Qualifications:

A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith.  Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs. Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. Of strong moral character and integrity.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • College graduate preferred.
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified.

Work Experience:

  • Prior experience and leadership in youth programming with a strong background in ministry leadership. Leadership experience with junior high, high school, and college-aged students.
  • Prior experience in camping ministry, having served in various roles.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
  • Ability to demonstrate a personal committed and thought-through faith in Christ.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through, creative, flexible and able to adjust to challenges of the program.
  • Able to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.

Key Job Accountabilities

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and hiking.

Additional Requirements/Skills:

  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in Mount Hermon’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
