Summer Staff - Organized Camp

Position Objective:


Conference Center Youth Lead develops, leads, and oversees the programming for the Conference Center Youth program, to provide Youth staff with the support and tools to implement holistic, excellent and developmentally appropriate program that lead students one step closer to Jesus, in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.


Key Job Accountabilities:           

  • Responsible to train, lead, and supervise Conference Center Youth Staff, empowering them to lead students one-step closer to Jesus while ensuring campers’ emotional and physical safety/well-being.
  • Responsible to work as a team with the Junior High and High School Specialists to explore, create, and coordinate program development and implementation for college age youth in attendance at family camps.
  • Organize, coordinate with necessary departments, set, and distribute schedules to the necessary parties.
  • Responsible for financial oversight including budget and purchasing.
  • Responsible to provide clear and open communication with parents.
  • Accountable for implementation and documentation of program inventory and evaluation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Conference Center Youth Counselors
  • Conference Center Youth Band/Counselors
  • Conference Center Junior High School Program Specialist
  • Conference Center High School Program Specialist


General Qualifications:


A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith.  Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs. Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. Of strong moral character and integrity.




  • High school graduate.
  • College experience.
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified.

Work Experience:


  • Prior or current experience working with college age students in ministry settings.
  • Must have experience in leadership roles (while working with college age students and young adults).
  • Prior camp counseling experience preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Preferred previous experience working with college age students in ministry settings.
  • Must possess leadership skills and emotional and spiritual maturity.
  • Must have strong relational skills and high energy to engage with youth.
  • Ability to articulate gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
  • Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.
  • Must be creative, detail oriented, with the ability to follow through with projects.
  • Must be flexible with an ability to adjust and problem solve in challenging situations.
  • Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.

Key Job Accountabilities

Physical Demands:


The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and hiking.

  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
