Organized Camp Summer Staff - 52 hours/ week + room & board

Position Objective:

The Lead Program Assistant will work alongside the Program Team to help implement intergenerational elements of Family Camp Program to ensure a welcoming environment that fosters learning through the provided program materials and activities in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.


Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Assists Program team with facilitating and implementing program ministry activities including Sunday night opening program, and daily program activities happening each morning and each evening during the 10 weeks of summer camp.
  • Works closely with program team to organize and decorate the conference center facility in preparation for summer camp
  • Responsible to assist with the organization and facilitation of skits, speakers, musicians and all Program productions
  • Responsible for inventory and maintaining program supplies and materials needed to execute summer program activities
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

General Qualifications:  

A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith.  Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs.  Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization.  Of strong moral character and integrity.


  • High School graduate.
  • Some college experience preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Prior camp experience preferred.
  • Prior work in theatrical production preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Must possess leadership skills and emotional and spiritual maturity.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully and tactfully with camp speakers, musicians, and executives.
  • Love for children and youth of all ages is essential; capable of providing strong Christian role model.
  • Ability to teach with patience and clear instruction.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A heart to serve Family Camp guests and other departments at Mount Hermon.
  • Must be able to lead guests.
  • Self-Starter.
  • Must possess creativity.


Key Job Accountabilities

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, and twisting.

Additional Requirements:

  • Will be assigned a secondary role as required for all Summer Staff.
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements. 
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
