Overview

Summer Staff - Organized Camp 

Position Objective:

The Bookshop assistant works to sell and promote books while keeping the Bookshop clean and orderly to ensure The Bookshop provide the best customer service in a clean and welcoming environment in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:  

  • Responsible for greeting, assisting Bookshop guests and complete sales transactions at point of sale to create a hospitable shopping environment for customers.
  • Responsible for receiving and stocking books and merchandise to create a neat and orderly shop.
  • Responsible for operating computer software to reconcile daily sales.
  • Responsible for greeting, assisting guests, and completing sales transactions at point of sale at other MH Camps in order to create an excellent shopping experience for customers.
  • Responsible for driving to other MH Camp stores for restocking, cleaning, and organizing clothing and merchandise to create a neat and orderly shop at other MH Camp stores.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • None.

Qualifications

General Qualifications:

A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith.  Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs.  Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization.  Of strong moral character and integrity.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • High school graduate.
  • College experience.

Work Experience:

 

  • Customer service experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Observant and attentive.
  • Able to articulate gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
  • Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.

Key Job Accountabilities

Physical Demands:

  • Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, etc.
  • Some lifting required - up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires standing for long periods.

Additional Requirements:

  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in Mount Hermon’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Will be assigned a secondary role as required for all Summer Staff.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
